Matrix Fire and Security worked alongside Greenside Integrated Services to complete the £100 million development of a new eight-form entry secondary school and sixth form academy. Matrix fitted new fire detection panels, with the site being completed five months ahead of schedule.
Matrix’s work included the user-friendly Atena Two-Panel Network System, which operates with four loops per panel and 250 devices per loop. The Atena system utilises a two-stage alarm procedure, with a ‘lock down’ facility. This product also takes in panic alarms and fire brigade notifications, and can manage potential nuisance alarms, evacuating students and staff while causing minimal disruption from learning.
Matrix Fire & Security Ltd was appointed by M&E Greenside IS Ltd working alongside main contractor Mid Group Limited to deliver turn key fire and security solutions for a new eight-form entry secondary school in Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.
The new school scheme has been developed the Mid Group team from planning through to delivery onto site. This new school facility is set to be delivered within just a 15-month timeframe.
The project was successfully delivered seven months early, within budget and according to the main contractor’s exacting specification.
